I Care for Children in a Center
A child’s experiences in early education are critical to his or her development and future success in school and life. A child care center typically features 2 or more classrooms, with a lead teacher and (frequently) a teacher assistant assigned to each room. Licensed centers follow child-staff ratios set by the Office of Early Childhood and Out of School Learning. Centers will also have a Director who provides oversight and leadership for the program.
A child care center has the opportunity to enroll in Paths to QUALITY™ provided that their license is valid and in good standing. The center director and staff will work together to reach the benchmarks set for achieving each of the levels on Paths to QUALITY™. Centers can choose to work with a mentor, or to be self-guided through the program.
