Bring the Power of Parenting Program to your School or Organization
4C offers a unique program for young parents, male and female, that are currently parenting or preparing to become parents. This program is done in a group setting with mothers and fathers and is typically held on school grounds for the convenience of the students.
Groups are open to all male and female students that are parenting or preparing to become parents. The focus of the group is to encourage empathy and peer support among young parents, while presenting vital parenting information. Through group meetings, participants are given the opportunity to engage in group discussions that are greatly influenced by the students and their unique needs, and guided by the Parenting Consultants. They are able to build their parent support system through personal experiences, and have the opportunity to participate in a variety of activities including parent/child play groups. The program uses a curriculum guide from Parents as Teachers, a research based and nationally recognized parenting support program, and is offered at no cost.
Parents enrolled in the program have the option to receive personal visits with a Parenting Consultant. During the personal visit, Parenting Consultants offer support and share age appropriate, developmental information that is very specific to the child. Parents are given the opportunity to track their child’s growth and development progress through developmental screenings. Personal visits can be a great benefit to help young parents address any concerns they may have on a more personal level. Parents may also receive personal visits even if they are not part of a group program or one is not offered at their school.
