Lavonne PechinAs one of the founders of 4C, now semi-retired, Lavonne Pechin continues to devote her time to early childhood by mentoring and training family child care providers. Ms. Pechin was the first director of Carver Day Care Center and she also directed University of Evansville’s child care center. She earned a bachelor’s degree in music from St. Louis Institute before earning a master’s in music from the University of Michigan. As an elementary teacher, she taught music in three states. Her graduate work in early childhood was done, in part, at Oklahoma State University and at UCLA. She completed her master’s in education with a focus on early childhood at UE. She has five grown children and she loves to travel.
